Fed up of the long wait time? So are we! Please help us to help you - if you are unable to attend your appointment or no longer need it, please contact the surgery immediately so that your appointment is available for your neighbour.

If every person who did not need their appointment any more cancelled it, then there would be at least 58 extra GP appointments and 54 nurse appointments available per month!

Wasted Medicine

Every year millions of pounds worth of prescription medication is wasted across West Cheshire alone. Over the entire country, this is a huge amount of money.

If you are taking medication, please consider the following:

  • Only order what you need
  • Check what's in your prescription bag before you leave the pharmacy
  • Finish your course of medication, even if you start to feel better
  • Don't stockpile medication
  • Review your medicines regularly with your pharmacist and/or GP

We currently have Medical Students working with us.

Medical students may be required to sit in during consultations. If you do not feel comfortable with this, please inform a member of staff when you book your appointment or as soon as possible on arrival.

Are your contact details correct?

Please inform us of any changes to your contact details as soon as possible. If we do not hold your correct contact information (address, telephone number and email address) we will not be able to contact you regarding results, referrals and review appointments. We can even send you text reminders for your existing appointments if we have your mobile number.

If you have a test done which has been requested by the Surgery, the test result will be returned to one of the GPs. They will view the result, and decide on the most appropriate course of action.

Normal Results

If your test result is normal or requires no action then we will not normally contact you regarding this result.
We are now able to send a text message to inform you of your blood, urine or faeces test results which are either normal, or require no action. If you would like to receive these text messages, please inform the clinician when you have your test.

If you have not heard from us and have any concerns about your test result or related medical condition, please get in touch.

Getting your Results

Please call after 2pm about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request after this time.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Abnormal Results

If you result is abnormal or requires action we will contact you within one eek of receiving the result to arrange one of the following:

  • routine appointment with the GP (wait time up to 4 weeks)
  • routine telephone consultation with the GP (wait time up to 2 weeks)
  • A repeat test
  • A prescription 

Please note; if your result shows something which the GP feels they need to speak with you about sooner than 2-4 weeks time, we will contact you to arrange this.

Please do not ask for an urgent appointment or telephone consultation to discuss your test results if you have been informed that you need to arrange a routine appointment or telephone consultation. The GP has reviewed your test results and decided that this is the most appropriate course of action.

In order to contact you, we need to have your up to date contact information. If your contact information has changed, or if you are not sure if we have the most up to date information, please get in touch.

We will attempt to contact you about your test results on one occasion only, so please make sure that we hold the correct contact information.

Please note that these timescales are only approximate - some tests can take longer depending on what the test is for, or how busy the department where you had the test done is.
For example, an X-Ray, CT or MRI scan result needs to be viewed by a Radiologist before the result can be sent to your GP.
